Getting Measured Guide
Achieving your perfect fit is simple with Metric's smartphone measurement tool. Precise measurements ensure your custom clothing feels incredible and fits flawlessly.
What to wear
- Wear fitted clothing: a snug-fitting t-shirt and athletic shorts or fitted pants.
- Avoid accessories and belts
- Flat shoes or barefoot.
- Make sure hair isn't obstructing your body's outline.

Background and Lighting
- Select a clean, clutter-free background contrasting with your clothing.
- Ensure the area is well-lit for accuracy.
Choose your photo method
You can choose to take photos yourself or with a friend.
(note: nobody will every see the photos. The software converts your smartphone's captures to a generic avatar that is used to calculate your measurements.)
Method 1: take photos yourself

Method 2: take photos with a friend

The measuring tool will prompt you to take two photos:
Front Photo
Face forward, arms slightly away from sides in an "A" position, feet shoulder-width apart.
Show full arm outline and full leg outline.

Side Photo
Turn left, stand straight with arms aligned along your body, feet together.
It's important to show the front and back outline of your body.
