• Allan & Sara Shiffrin

  • Metric began when Allan, an online clothing store owner, couldn’t find a T-shirt that fit the way he wanted. After trying dozens of brands, he turned to his daughter, Sara, a fashion designer, with a big idea: create a T-shirt brand that’s custom-fit for everyone. They wanted a shirt that would be inclusive of all body shapes and give people the freedom to choose the exact fit they wanted—whether close-fitting or loose, short or long.

But creating that level of customization with standard sizing would mean endless inventory and lots of waste. So, they took a different path. Allan developed formulas to generate custom fit inputs for each customer, while Sara found a technology and laser-cutting process that could turn those inputs into unique patterns on demand. This approach allows Metric shirts to be made one at a time, exactly to your preferences, with no excess stock and minimal waste.

The result? A truly personal fit that feels just right, every time you put it on. Metric isn’t just a shirt; it’s a family project dedicated to helping you look and feel great with a shirt that’s dialed in perfectly to your shape and style.
